Project "Foundation "Palīdzē" operational support"

In September 2013 foundation "Palīdzē" began to launch a project “Foundation "Palīdzē" operational support" contract no. 2012.EEZ/DAP/MAC/052/4/NAC/021 within the framework of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009 - 2014 program “NGO support ".

The project aims to ensure sustainable development for the implementation of social discrimination mitigation measures in Latvia and to encourage activity of society in decision-making processes at local, regional and national levels.

The direct target group are children and youth that are affected by social discrimination risk as well as the foundation staff and volunteers who will participate in the implementation of project activities .

The main project activities are the:

1) to build awareness of the target group of civil participation in decision-making processes;

2) to take active part as an organization in policy development and decision-making processes at local, regional and national levels;

3) to involve in a cooperation platform / network at local and regional, national or international level;
4) to promote voluntary work and attract new volunteers and organization members;
5) to raise the financial resources in order to continue actions in the future.


The project will be implemented by 2015 and aims to achieve the following main results:

  1. Organized 56 educational and information activities;
  2. In civil awareness-raising actions involved 200 children and young people;
  3. Studied experience of 14 Latvian and 14 foreign non-governmental organizations;
  4. Started cooperation for implementation of 7 common measures and established participation at least in 2 NGO networks / platforms;
  5. Organized 3 exhibitions, 28 Youth club donation kiosk visits and attracted 30 volunteers;
  6. Organized 2 press conferences and in the organization's website published 28 articles on program activities.

The project is financially supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and   approved co- financing is 90% or 38804.08 LVL of the total project cost are project co-financing.
